**Poplar: Liriodendron tulipifera**

Poplar lumber, derived from the Liriodendron tulipifera tree, is softer than many other hardwoods yet remains durable and highly desirable for furniture making. It features a straight grain with a creamy white to yellowish hue, occasionally displaying green and purple streaks. Due to the relatively fast growth rate of poplar trees, they are considered a renewable resource in the United States.
