About Us
At Woodland Casket Company, we strive to offer more than just a final resting place.
We’re transforming the age-old notion of "just bury me in a plain wooden box" into a sustainable and dignified reality. Our mission is to craft eco-friendly, beautifully designed wooden caskets using sustainable practices, ensuring that every farewell honors both your loved ones and the environment. With Woodland Casket Co you’re choosing a meaningful, green alternative that respects the planet while providing a timeless and elegant resting place.
Hi, I’m Ray.
I’m the founder of Woodland Casket Co.
For decades, I've dedicated my career to the hardwood lumber and cabinet industry, honing my skills and nurturing a deep appreciation for craftsmanship. However, it was in the past decade that I embarked on a transformative journey, shaping the vision of Woodland Casket Co's eco-friendly casket line.
With a steadfast commitment to sustainability and affordability, We set out to redefine the traditional burial box. Drawing inspiration from our 150-acre farm in Northeast Ohio, We envisioned a casket line that not only honored the environment but also utilized our natural resources responsibly. Collaborating with funeral homes, religious leaders, Amish casket makers, and master carpenters, we meticulously refined every aspect of our casket design and construction process.
Our approach is rooted in sustainability from start to finish. We ethically harvest mature or wind-fallen trees from our woodlot, transforming them into exquisite pieces of cabinetry that serve as final resting places. These trees, with their growth rings bearing witness to centuries of history, now offer solace and dignity to those who choose our caskets.
In the midst of grief and loss, our caskets stand as symbols of enduring craftsmanship and environmental stewardship. It's our earnest hope that they provide a sense of peace and comfort during life's most challenging moments.
As Genesis 3:19 reminds us, "By the sweat of your brow you will eat your food until you return to the ground, since from it you were taken; for dust you are and to dust you will return." In crafting our eco-friendly caskets, we honor this sacred cycle of life, offering a sustainable pathway back to the earth.
